Florence + The Machine is a band with exceptional talent. Florence Welsh possesses one of the strongest voices to come on the music scene in decades. Florence + The Machine is timely, artful and brilliant.
Introducing
Florence + The Machine is a magical music experience. Lead vocalist, Florence Welsh and keyboardist, Isabella “Machine” Summers, guitarist Robert Ackroyd, drummer/percussionist Chris Hayden, bass guitarist Mark Saunders, and Tom Monger on the harp is Florence + The Machine
The 2011-2012 Tour
Florence + The Machine’s new album “Ceremonials” released in the Fall 2011 marks their return to the United States on December 4, 2011 for a series of concerts and heads south to Brazil for three concerts before returning to the U.K for back to back concert appearances
She Says
Florence describes her music as an all consuming, can’t catch your breath, magical experience. “It’s something overwhelming and all encompassing that fills you up and you are either going to explode with it or you’re just going to disappear”. The bands break out album “Lungs” in 2009 triggered an international tsunami of concerts from her homeland in the U.K. across Europe, New Zealand and cresting in the United States
Greek Myths--Sirens
Florence’s flaming red hair, Gothic/Baroque imagery and hauntingly soulful lyrics conjures up images of mythological Sirens that lured sailors to their death with their sweet Song of the Sirens. Sirens in Greek myths were sisters in the form of half woman and half bird-like creatures know for their melodic gifts that caused listeners to forget to eat.
Classical or Sequined Studded
Florence + The Machine performed Buddy Holly's classic song, "Don't Fade Away". The black and white artful music video demonstrates the incredible range the band possesses. Recent artful dynamic color presentations include, Florence + The Machine’s "What The Water Gave Me" offer a glimpse into the mystical nature of the band. "No Light No Light" takes the listener on a juxtaposition of steadfast determination and free-falling from an urban edifice. Florence is determined to transform music to an out of body experience. Whatever Florence + The Machine does it does well. The band is here to stay.
