Early life.

Madonna

Born in Bay city Michigan on August 16 1958. Maddona was the child to the mother of a French Canadian and a father of Italian American decent. After her mother died of breast cancer when she was at a very tender age , Madonna had to learn to take care of herself and other siblings.

Later she attended the Rochester Adams High school where she was a straight A student. She later convinced her father to do ballet classes.
After signing a label belonging to Warner Brothers Madonna eventually became a big influence on women and girls due to her music videos and performances.

Fame hits.

Madonna easily became the fashion trend of the 1980's with her provocative attire. She came under fire with the hit song " Like a virgin" , when moralists claimed that the song and video promoted premarital sex and sought to get it banned. Through all the controversial issues surrounding the song it managed to remain on the billboard 100 chart for six consecutive weeks.

Married into abuse.

Madonna's provocative image continued to be her trademark even after her marriage to Sean Penn. After a short courtship the couple got married, on her birthday 1985. But a lot of jealousy seemed to come on Sean's behalf as it was reported that he hit her many occasions and even threatened to shave her head. The couple finally divorced in the year 1989.

The Legacy continues.

To this day Madonna remains a legacy as Billboard magazine ranked her as the most successful single artiste of all time. Her influence on pop music artistes are numerous . Gwen Stefanie, Nelly Furtado, Shakira, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears all owe it to Madonna as many of their styles and performances were forged from her.
