Shahrukh Khan accepted that he had taken a risk with Ra One.
Superstar Shahrukh Khan said that he had taken a risk in making a costly film like Ra One, but he was the person who could take the risk. He gave an exclusive interview before journalist Indranil Ray and the communication had been published in Anandabazar Patrika on 15th October, 2011.
He said that he came to Mumbai with Rs 1500 and conquered bollywood and now is in a position to produce a film of the stature of Ra One which required 150 crores. He asked his wife about it, and she allowed him to take the risk of making a costly film with advanced technologies.
He said he was upset about the death of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi as he was attached to his family. He was also sad about death of son of Mohammad Azharuddin with whom he was attached. He said these days youngstars should be advised not to drive rashly keeping the concern of their parents.
Shahrukh Khan had been proud to make Ra One.
He said he was proud about the animation and special effects of Ra One. It was done for the first time in Indian films. When he was asked that Kareena Kapoor, the heroine of the film had acted opposite Aamir Khan in The Three Idiots which became blockbuster, same was the case opposite Salman Khan in Bodyguard which did business of 150 crores. How did Shahrukh Khan managed to work with her who was also comfortable with his rival Khans. He laughed and said he told Kareena Kapoor, why was she acting opposite the small Khans, she should have worked with King Khan.
He also appreciated Salman Khan’s success in the film Bodyguard this year. He said that he made the film Ra One with his heart, so viewers are definitely going to appreciate his effort.

Shahrukh Khan knows that Ra One had been the costliest film made in Mumbai. So in that context there is extra burden of doing business of 150 crores to balance the huge cost of production.
