Another win for Vettel in Sinapore, and the world championship is now within his grasp.

Vettel wins the Singapore Grand Prix
Yesterday, Sunday 25th September 2011 saw Vettel win the Singapore Grand Prix. He led right from the start, and never, at any time in the race, could anyone even challenge him. He has the fastest car on the circuit thanks to the brilliant Adrian Newey. Red Bull is the car of the moment, and even the diehard Maclaren and Ferrari, cannot match its speed.
Then there was Lewis Hamilton
The race could have been boring except for the valiant Lewis Hamilton, who managed to add some excitement, with daring overtaking moves. Lewis started from 4th on the grid, after a fuel problem made it impossible to finish his qualifying session. and improve his time on Saturday. His start was fast, but when he was boxed in, he yielded, so determined was he to finish and get valuable points.
But he had now slipped back into 8th place, so now he had it all to do, so he gradually passed his opponents, until he reached Massa, where they accidentally touched, causing them both to lose positions, and Lewis lost his front wing, and had to take an extra pit stop.
Lewis got a drive through penalty
The commentators were surprised when he got a drive through penalty, as it had appeared to be nothing more than a racing incident. Lewis served his penalty, and came back into the race near the back of the field. He was undeterred by this, and set off again, passing so many cars along the way.
It was so exciting to see him picking his way through the field in an effort to finish in a respectable position. Sadly after the race, Massa spoke very bitterly about him to journalists. It has been a bad year for Massa, not being able to achieve much, but he didn't get knocked off, he was still able to finish, and no doubt his frustration at a season of bad results caused his temper to bubble over, and he felt Lewis was the perfect target for his anger.
This was the result
Well done Vettel, next week the championship will be yours, thanks to your amazing car. It remains to be seen if anyone can challenge you in 2012, it just depends how well the other manufacturers can develop their car.
I commiserate with Massa for not having a good season, but sometimes that is the way it goes.
I applaud Lewis, who has managed to win twice in a season fraught with team errors, and a badly performing car. As for yesterday, he drove a brilliant race, to come from near the back of the field, and finish in 5th place. I am hoping that next season McLaren can get their act together, and give their very talented driver the support he truly deserves.

Hi Carol, As usual, great review. But what I was really happy with was to see Force India get two positions within the top 10. Am from India and it is cricket all the way. Nice to see Indian cars in Formula-1. Otherwise, we only get news about cricket stars. Whatever Saina Nehwal or Vishwanathan Anand do, hardly get recognized.

Carol, you do these pages on the "grand prix" like no other, I always enjoy them so much. My son is here so, he brought his computer over for a few hours and I just had to touch bases with you. I hope all is well my friend. I will check back with you when I can, or when my son comes over again. I so hate not having a computer, oh well. There are worse things that could happrn, right. Congrats on the star page, it is well deserved. As always, thank you for sharing.:)
