The following is an obituary of the great south South African writer who went aganst apartheid.

Andre Brink his birth and death

Born on May 25, 1935 in Vrede in Free State South Africa, a novelist died February 6, 2015 at 79 years old. He died, on an airplane of something they aren't telling us. .We do know it was not an airplane crash. He was taking a plane back to Cape Town after he was in Europe fror a Belgium University ceremony to give him an honorary Doctorate.

What the purpose of Andres writing

Andre Brink was a writer who dedicated himself in his writings to trying to teach people who are pro-apartheid that was wrong.
He wasn't always supportive of blacks. He grew up and while attending Lydenburg Hig school and then a university is now part of North West University but when he was attending was called the University of Potchefstroom, It was here his major was studying Afrikaans. In college he became involved in a nationalist party secret society called Broederbond, He believed the cruelty to blacks was something that bwas supposed to happen.

When Andre changes his mind

HIs first of his six wives named Estelle went to Paris with him when he had a scholarship in 1960. While he was in Paris, he discovered that all people of all colors are equal.. He came to this conclusion because of tThe Sharpville Massacre.
So he decided that while teaching at Rhodes University at Grahamstown Eastern Cape He taught Afrikaans and Dutch literature. What he wanted to achieve in his books that those Afrikaners who are pro-apartheid are wrong . He wanted to reach these people through fiction.

Andre's first book

His first book published in 1962, waqs the way he began to show his morals that apartheid is entirely wrong. He felt so strongly about his anti-apartheid that he wrote them in the language of most of his country, South Africa. Then he wrote them in English which would reach a far larger audience . He had a number of books that went international. Here are some of these books that were international;ly publshed and the year thry were publsihed.
Rumours of Rain (1978)
A Dry White Season(1979)
A Chain of Voices (1981)
Because of books like these he waa declared a state enemy , was under interrogations and threats from the South African government

The book A dry white season

The book A Dry White Season is about a black man whose son is missing and ends up dead and then while he was being held in detention, the black man himself dies.. Then a white teacher becomes involves in politics to try to get to the truth of the story. He wants to knlow why the man and his son died.. The novel was made into a movie which suc big-name stars as Marlon Brando, Susan Sarandon and Donald Sutherland. But the government censored it and a very few whites got to see the movie
