Paranormal Encounters with Pop Stars, Actors and Royalty

When it comes to the paranormal, celebrities are not exempt. In fact there have been so many supernatural incidences involving actors, pop stars, royals, models and sports figures that the Biography Channel dug deep, giving us a behind the scenes glimpse into the world of the rich and famous with episodes featuring videos and biographies of stars who have experienced ghost sightings and other paranormal activity. New episodes with personal accounts are offered regularly as the chilling stories from our favorite celebrities roll in, giving viewers a detailed look into the other side like they have never seen before. Non-believers will be pushed to rethink how they feel about supernatural occurrences as ghosts have no preference when it comes to social status or fame.

Belinda Carlisle

Most people have experienced that strange noise that awakens them in the middle of the night, leading most into a feeble attempt to clear their groggy mind to determine the cause. If you are one of the fortunate ones, you will not be forced to face the fact that the noise in question is a ghost that is hovering over your bed. If it is, it can be assumed that all skepticism is out the door as the realization hits you that you have come face to face with someone or something from the other side.

For singer Belinda Carlisle there was no doubt as to what the misty shape towering over her bed might be. The ruefully sassy spirit visited her during a London trip while she lay in bed and unmercifully pinned her to the spot she lay in while scaring the life out of the lead vocalist for the Go-Go's. Belinda claims that during the paranormal episode, the room dropped severely in temperature to a bone chilling degree and left her incapable of moving, breathing, screaming or calling out for help. The singer actually felt at one point that this was how her life was going to end, but then miraculously the ghost vanished into thin air just as fast at it had appeared.

Telly Savalas

The bald Greek lollypop wielding star known to the nation as Kojak was no stranger to the supernatural in it's highest form, despite the fact that these things were rarely talked about in 1957. Not only did Telly see a ghost, he caught a ride with one in his fancy black Cadillac one winter evening after running out of gas just about halfway home after visiting his cousin in Long Island. According to Telly he had started walking when a high pitched voice asked him if he wanted a lift. He turned, saw a guy in a Cadillac, thanked him and proceeded to climb into the passenger seat. We headed for the freeway, and I realized that I did not have my wallet. The guy then offered me a dollar.

Telly insisted on paying him back and wrote his name, Harry Agannis, on a piece of scrap paper. The next day he looked him up in the phone book, but was told by his wife that he had passed on three years prior. Telly felt inclined to show her the paper where the man had written his name, and he described Harry to Mrs. Agannis. She told me that those were the clothes he had been buried in.

Queen Elizabeth

The head of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth herself once witnessed the ghost of the Scottish manservant John Brown on the grounds of the Balmoral Castle, estate of the British Royal family, and home to Queen Victoria. Mr. Brown and Victoria shared an exceptionally close relationship which offered speculation as to how deep their friendship really was.

Dan Akroyd

Starring in a supernatural comedy can give you some insight into the spirit world, and Dan Akroyd is no stranger when it comes to being visited by ghosts, made up or otherwise. In the 1984 Ghostbusters movie, parapsychologists Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis team up to exterminate troublesome ghosts, but in real life Dan isn't so successful at warding off spirits. His fascination with the paranormal has left him open-minded and possibly a target for supernatural activity. In fact he believes that his private gated mansion, once owned by the Mamas and Papas vocalist Cass Elliot is haunting the estate. The 'big ghost' as he refers to her has moved jewelry across his dresser, turned on equipment in his weight room and once even crawled into bed with the actor in his master suite.

Jenna Bush Hager

TODAY correspondent Jenna Bush Hager and the youngest twin daughter of former President George W. Bush, Jenna has dabbled in everything from teaching and charities to writing, interning and the paranormal. The ghostly activity was not by choice, but nonetheless her numerous run-ins with ghosts while in the White House taught Jenna that the most famous house in the United States, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is really haunted. During her stay at the White House from 2001-2009, Jenna learned that her bedroom was a portal for spooky events, including 1920's opera music blasting from the fireplace. Hundreds of people have witnessed ghosts in the White House, and even the former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton claims that there was a definite eery atmosphere undeniably present within the home.

Sir Paul McCartney

Beatles musician and vocalist Paul McCartney has openly admitted to sensing the spirit of fellow band member John Lennon during a 1995 recording session. While recording Free as a Bird, strange noises permeated the room with equipment and every instrument in the room behaving erratically during his presence. John Lennon's ghost has been witnessed in several locations by those who loved him and knew him best, and in 1983 his spirit appeared with the accompaniment of eery lights in the exact location where he was killed.
