Food: Art Contest Winner II
Another fascinating arts showcasing the winners on a recent contest hosted by the author's own group.

The following is from my Art group - ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL- administered in another site that hosted this contest recently. It was open to all mediums. It's titled FOOD and was aptly themed for season's new Spring , thus its but timely celebrating the food we eat from fruits, vegetables, spices and yes meat.
Next to bragging right I promised that "All top 3 winners will be featured in my article outside the hostng site" That's why am featuring them all here.
Bowl of Apples
The artist behind this winning entry is Eileen Patten Oliver. She has been painting in both Massachusetts and Maine, specializing in land and seascapes, for more than 50 years. According to her bio she was "born and raised in Waltham, MA, she received her early art education under noted Boston painter, Paul Shea & was chosen to take a class at Mass College of Art while still in high school. Life circumstances prevented her from continuing her formal training, but she continued to learn from other painters and learned much on her own. Her work hangs in many private homes and businesses and she has participated in many solo and group shows. "

"I am an italian artist born in Rosario, Argentina. I've always been autodidact, without having a determined style, I am an artist who always experiencing new forms, new techniques, ways and manners of creating art, an artist who prefers to create different day after day.
Although I have painted all of my life, I did it from passion and in my free time, because I always developed other activities. In all these years, regardless of the activities that I've held, the painting has remained my great passion. I like the colors, shades and shapes and everything I manage to build with them. I paint in different styles and techniques, therefore the monotony do not characterize me. "
Vine Ripe Tomatoes
3rd place was "Vine Ripe Tomatoes" by David & Carol Kelly medium photography.
Base on their published info, David and Carol are a husband and wife team of 50 years. "We capture the world as each sees it. Due to our different views you will find a variety of subject matter and styles. Landscapes, cityscapes, animal portraiture, still lifes of ordinary objects, beautiful nature images and more are the subjects we capture with the camera."
The contest was so successful that it attracted 560 art works from frm 319 artist.
I have no dobt food comes first in our needs as Virginia Woolf have said:
'One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.'
