Should a celebrity or a VIP allowed to break the law? Read on what happened in my country India recently.

what should be the verdict in this case? please reply

In every country, be it developed or developing, there are laws and rules to make the society run smoothly and without any corruption. Why the rules are made? They are of course made for our own safety, our good and for humanity sake but what if someone tries to go above the law because he/she is the VIP or have approach to higher authorities??
Definitely it would be wrong !
In my country India, a very famous and star celebrity from the bollywood unwillingly hit a labour class poor man sleeping on the road side area because the celebrity was drunk and he drove. The man died on the spot and few others were wounded. Accident was unwillingly but the alcohol consumed was Willingly because drunk and drive isn't allowed at all.
The case happened in year 2002 but after long 13 years the celebrity got the punishment of 5 years jail but now also he is on bail and waiting for the next hearing in which he will be applying for the bail extension.
I personally didn't like it because being a VIP it's so easy to commit a crime and get the bail because your pockets are full of money..
but isn't it so wrong to give a punishment of the youth in the old age as the celebrity has turned 50 now. He has paid the compensation amount to the ruined families and also it is said that he has got changed and is now working for the sake of humanity but will the person who died will come back with that? The people who became handicapped will be able to walk and work properly now?
what do you say about it ?? How would it be if it was in your country? ?
please give your views..
:) thanks in advance !!

GOD bless all !!

I must say we have the same thing happening in our country, people that are wealthy do get away with murder. What a shame. Be strong, pray the Lord to deliver our country for evil. You are a blessing.

Unfortunately, many people who have sufficient means can get by with breaking laws, not paying taxes, or even committing murder. Justice will be served to those folks some day if not here and now, in the next world. God Bless

This is why we say Money is the rule of all evil. May this person pay the price in another life. So sad

Democracy and freedom without rule of law is anarchy. I cannot understand why people in India hoist these people sky high, sort of demi-gods. We get what we deserve - the change has to come from us - siva

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW that's the unoversal rule of thumb.. Well an actor-comedian turned senator never got thememo so to speak many years ago in my country. when this "VIP" tried to have an easy route by passing through a private village and refused to gve ID. He felt insulted and demand he be recognized, u fortunalely the guard doesn't know him nor intend to back down from his duty call. Worst thing happened he was stipped of his fiream and threat him to have his last working day assured. Ending, the public cried foul and the senator lost his re-election bid.
