Would you want to pay $16,000 for someone's old tooth. What if it happened to belong to the famed superstar Beatle, John Lennon?

According to Huffington Post the late musicians tooth will go up for auction next month. The item belongs to Dot Jarlett, a former housekeeper for the group who received the tooth from Lennon in the 1960's as an odd piece of memorabilia for her Beatles-mad daughter.
Contact Music reports that Jarlett's son, Barry says, "he was in the kitchen and he had this tooth which he wrapped in a piece of paper. He said,

"Dot will you dispose of this and then he said, "or as your daughter's Beatles fan, you can give to her as a souvenir."

"It is something that we felt to be very personal any my mother actually gave it to my sister, who has kept it safe."
But now after many years later the Jarlett's are preparing to sell the tooth at an auction in Stockport, England in November and it is expected to be a big hit.
According to Post Chronicle Omega Auctions representative Karen Fairweather says,

"this is the most wonderful and weird item that we have ever had for sale."

The sale of Lennon's tooth joins the auction of a letter written by Paul McCartney as just another event in the parade of Beatles-related news in the past months.
"We are expecting to achieve at least £10,000 ($16,000) but rare items such as this has been known to reach six figures", says Karen Fairweather.
