This article is about my five favorite moments of Mike Tyson.

The Baddest Man on the Planet

Mike Tyson was one of the most fascinating sports figures of the 20th century. Nicknamed "Kid Dynamite," he was the biggest box office attraction in boxing, and captivated the world with his knockout power, ferociousness and intimidating boxing style as well as his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring. Mike Tyson became a cultural icon, one of the richest athletes in his generation, and one of the greatest heavyweight prizefighters of all-time. I still remember playing his classic boxing video game, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

I proudly present my favorite moments of the legendary "Iron" Mike Tyson.

1. Mike Tyson becomes the youngest heavyweight champion in the history of boxing. At 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old, he defeated Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the second round and captured the WBC heavyweight championship. It would be the start of a new era in boxing as the heavyweight division became fun and exciting to watch.

2. Mike Tyson knocking out Michael Spinks in 91 seconds was the best I seen Tyson looked in the ring. It was the pinnacle of Tyson's fame and boxing ability. On that night, the boxing world recognized him as the undisputed heavyweight champion.

3. Mike Tyson's street fight with Mitch "Blood" Green was crazy. I remembered it was the talk of my Harlem neighborhood for a long time. The incident began in the early hours of August 23, 1988 in Harlem. Mike Tyson was in the legendary Harlem clothing store called Dappen Dan, shopping with a friend. Mitch Green heard Tyson was in there, and he approached him. They exchanged words, and a fight ensued. Mike Tyson broke his hand in the incident by punching Mitch Green in the nose. Mitch Green had to get five stitches from the blow. The images of Mitch Green's swollen eye were all over the news.

4. Mike Tyson unifying the WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles by defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker in 1987. He made history by becoming the first heavyweight prizefighter to hold all three major championships simultaneously. "Tyson Mania" was definitely in full swing during that time.

5. Mike Tyson regaining the heavyweight championship from Frank Bruno in March of 1996 by knocking him out in the third round, after serving three years in prison. I was happy to see him once again the heavyweight champion of the world. What was also memorable about that moment was after the fight, seeing Mike Tyson and the late great Tupac Shakur embraced.
