A small tribute to Randy Travis, a Grammy Award-winning country singer

Randy Travis: Old-Timer Country, A Tribute

I've always been a fan of country music, and most of my favorite artists are country singers. Lately, I've been reading and following the news on Randy Travis on the internet. For those who don't know who he is, you can read about him on the news, he's practically all over right now. Travis is a veteran country singer, and has been one of my favorites. He suffered a stroke some days ago and has had surgery, and I believe is in serious condition. His fans are praying and hoping for a swift recovery.

My favorite song of his is a love song, the Grammy Award-winning "Forever and Ever, Amen". Always a romantic at heart, this remains on my personal list of all-time most popular love songs , in any genres. I love the lyrics, and the chorus which go, and I quote:

"I'm gonna love you forever
Forever and ever, amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful
I'll be happy to tell you again
I'm gonna love you
Forever and ever
Forever and ever, amen"

Amazing lyrics. I shed tears the first time I heard it, touched my heart and made a romantic out of me. Catchy beat as well. You can check out the song here www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-aPyU1o8iM

Funnily enough, my second most favorite song of his is the break-up song "I Told You So". Quite expressive.

Get well soon, Mr. Travis. May your guitar sings again.
