Sex scandals are big media events in America, Famous married men who are discovered having affairs with young women from modest backgrounds are treated like villians by the press.

How Low-status Women are Elevated and High-status Men are Trashed

Sex scandals involving famous men and unknown women are ripe meat for US-based news services. Trial by media is the norm in the States with plenty of salacious content being fed to the public via the mainstream press, TV news, and tabloid publications. While there are exceptions, most of the feeding frenzy for sex scandals usually follows one popular script in America: how low-status women are elevated at the expense of high-status men they are involved with being trashed.

To support my claim I will mention how back in 1987 there was the sex scandal that involved former US senator, Gary Hart, who at the time was in the lead as the potential Democratic Party presidential candidate and was having an affair with a 29 year old model named Donna Rice. Investigative journalists at the Miami Herald, after receiving a tip, pursued Hart and came up with proof that the former senator, a married man with children, was spending nights with the attractive young woman. The result: Hart was forced to pull out of the primary race and his career in further public service was ruined. Shame!

The man who had worked for the American people was suddenly thrown out of the spotlight like a sack of garbage while Donna Rice, a nobody, was portrayed as an angel, a victim, a princess to be placed atop a gilded pedestal. Never mind that she was fully aware that Hart was a married man. The media absolves her. She is declared a victim and free from guilt.

Time-and-time-again this scenario has played out in America. In the case with the famous Televangelist Jim Bakker and his secretary Jessica Hahn hush money had been paid to keep the ordinary staff member silent about an affair she was having with the renowned preacher. When the illicit relationship became public his career ends while she becomes a media sensation.

Then there was former US president Bill Clinton, and his young intern Monica Lewinsky. Bill was portrayed as the devil incarnate but Monica was treated like a fragile flower that had been ruthlessly manipulated by a much older very powerful man. And more recently there is the huge story about Donald Sterling, who was the wealthy owner of the L.A. Clippers basketball team, and his affair with V. Stiviano, a seasoned-gold digger of magnitude 10. He is slammed hard by the media for racist remarks which Stiviano got by way of illegally taping his conversation with her over the phone. She becomes an instant star and will no doubt come out with a book, (ghost written by experts), and a TV movie deal that will net her millions not to mention the princely sums she can earn by way of interviews.

Somehow this disgusting practice of elevating a woman of low-status, in some cases they are no more than whores and gold diggers, to that of global sensation at the expense of destroying the goals, ambitions, and even entire careers of men in high positions, has got to stop. But dear reader, don’t expect this to happen any time soon. There is just too much money at stake for the trash media empire that runs America.

That's because American media is mainly liberal/left which has a fake disdain for rich, privileged men taking advantage of women. (It's not their money; it's others' money and therefore tainted).
As I see it, the women are as responsible for the misdeeds as men.

Joyce, you are quite perceptive. I think you really have the intelligence to see behind the facade which is presented in the mainstream media.

Marilyn Munro was the most famous of the lot, two Kennedy Brothers and finally got killed by them too....
Its the price of sex with the wrong person and shacking the leg with the bigwigs when not needed except for a scandal.

Surprised you never mentioned her.
Jerry Springer was another who paid for a prostitute with a White House cheque.
